Nome; The Congregation of the Missionary Sisters  St. Therese of the Child Jesus

Teresina Sisters.Started; started in 09April 1935. It is the date when the holy sea, the people, the office of the Pope Propagation of faith at the Vatican approved. Also the date when the first constitution was approved by the holy sea. The first constitution was prepared by the founder.

Founder; The founder of the Teresina Sisters is Mons. Francesco Joseph Cagliero. He belongs to the Consolata Missionaries. He founded the Congregation when he was a prefect of the Diocese of Iringa, Tanzania.

To raise the Congregation of the Africans washelped by the Consolata Sisters. The Mother mistress was Sister Delfina Vaisit.

Number of Sisters: in October 1935 the firsPostulants entered Novisiate, they were twelve. 8December 1937, the first Novisiate had Religious vows.

Today the Congregation has 400+ perpetual vows Sisters.

Independent the Consolata Sisters raised the Congregation from 1935 – 1964. October 1964 the first local Superior General, Mother Margaretha Mpwepwa was elected.  That was done at the general council meeting.

The General Conciliar Meeting is done after every six year.
